Do you really need a professional water heater repair in Manalapan?

    Last updated 5 days ago

It’s easy to fool yourself into thinking you can take care of your water heater repair or installation in Manalapan by yourself. While a water heater may seem like a relatively straightforward piece of equipment, it can actually be quite hard to fix and install (especially if it’s your first time making repairs to this type of equipment).

Due to the complexity of the components, it is not a wise idea to try repair or install your water tank yourself. If you install it wrong or break something in the process, it can be a costly mistake on your part. Play it safe and contact a water heater installation contractor to install your new water tank.

    Water Tank Components 101

Several components work together inside your water tank to produce hot water for your household. Unfortunately all components have the capability of breaking down but repairs are usually affordable. Although there are a dozen parts to a water heater, here are the main components:

    • The Outer Tank. The outer shell of the water tank has a metal casing and underneath that is a layer of protective insulating polyurethane foam. The inside of the water tank is made of heavy metal and contains an inner protective liner that holds several gallons of water depending on the size of the tank itself. Sometimes, the tank casing can split and cause water to leak, if this happens, you will need to call a water heater repair company to diagnose the problem. Unfortunately, a water tank that has a split casing cannot be repaired and must be replaced.
    • Dip Tube. This component is located at the top of the tank and allows water to enter the tank; it then travels to the bottom of the tank where it is heated. The dip tube can split and affect the operation of the water tank. It is a very common repair and it is not too costly to fix.
    • Heating Mechanism. Gas water heaters contain a burner and chimney as the heating source to heat the water whereas a heating element is contained in the inside of an electric water tank. A faulty heating mechanism is also a common repair and should be looked at by a water heater repair and installation mechanic.

Even if you take care to check and maintain your water heater, it may still give you problems at one point or another. If you’re not sure how to execute the water heater installation yourself, rather call a professional company who has years of experience in the industry.
